The purpose of the session is to establish a communication platform to discuss the best healthcare supplier diversity practices.  This Learning Collaborative will provide an opportunity for public hospital representatives to share ideas, express concerns and issues as well as share experiences and best practices related to supplier diversity.

Upon completion of this session participants will:

• Understand the business case for supplier diversity

• Identify best practices in supplier diversity

• Know how to manage the organization and vendor relationship

• Know how to establish productive partnerships between diversity and procurement

Breakout Session:  Understanding the RFP Process

The purpose of this session is to educate vendors on the RFP process in public hospitals.  Vendors will receive a detailed review of the RFP process as utilized in the JPS Health Network. Vendors have the opportunity to gain insight into the process and ask questions.

Upon completion of this session participants will:

• Understand the RFP process

• Understand the timeline associated with the RFP process

• Know what information is expected from vendors

• Know the annual registration requirements for vendors 

Breakout Session:  The Prime and Sub Relationship

Moderator: Carol Carter, Director - Total Compensation -  JPS Health Network.

Panel Participants:

Arthur Elgin, Director Facilities Management - JPS Health Network

Angie Morgan, Director, Design & Construction - JPS Health Network

The purpose of this session is to share the JPS Health Network viewpoint of the relationship between the prime and the subcontractor.  A prime and subcontractor will share their experiences working together and in partnership with the JPS Health Network. Participants will hear these vendors' unique business strategy and learn how to partner together to enhance their RFP submissions.

Upon completion of this session participants will:

• Establish new potential working relationships

• Identify how to find other businesses seeking partnerships

• Know the JPS guidelines for prime and subcontactor relationships

• Know the annual registration requirements expected from vendors

Dialogue Circle B

The dialogue circle is an informal discussion group led by JPS purchasing departments including, IT, Design & Costruction, Materials Management and Plant Operations.  The discussion group will:

• Provide opportunities for face-to-face dialogue between purchasers and vendors

• Provide access for vendors to network with each other to identify business opportunities to work together on projects or bids

• Provide a glimpse of projects and needs for JPS fiscal year 2015
