NIKKI SUMPTER

Senior Vice President, Human Resource - JPS Health Network

As Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Learning for JPS Health Network, Nikki Sumpter is responsible for developing and executing the JPS People Strategy for more than 6,000 team members. Sumpter leads the human resources division, Network education and learning, occupational health and wellness, and diversity and inclusion functions. Her goal at JPS is to develop and retain highly motivated and innovative individuals who are focused on transforming healthcare delivery.

 

Prior to joining JPS in March 2012, Sumpter was employed with Carolinas HealthCare System, in Charlotte, NC, where she served in human resources for over 15 years. Being a human resources leader for a public health care system with more than 60,000 employees positioned her to grow recruiting efforts, increase employee engagement, and improve learning opportunities for team members.  

 

Sumpter earned a master’s degree in Human Resources Development from Villanova University. Additionally, she is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Corporate Leadership Council Human Resources Leadership Academy Graduate. She is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA) and American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

 

Advocacy and volunteerism are important to Sumpter. As a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., she renders service on issues affecting families and communities. She serves on the Fort Worth Board of March Dimes and the DFW Hospital Council Workforce Development Board. Committed to making her community a better place to live, she has been selected as a member of the 2013 Leadership Fort Worth class.

ANGIE MORGAN

Director, Design & Construction - JPS Health Network

Angie Morgan has more than 30 years experience in the construction industry; 20 of those in healthcare construction.  She has served as Director of Design & Construction at JPS Health Network for the past 5 years completing more than $30-million in capital construction projects, with a track record of on-time, on-budget delivery.  She credits her success to her incredible team and the leaderhip and vision of the executive team.

PETRINA BONNICK-HIGGINS

Manager, Supplier Diversity - JPS Health Network

Petrina Bonnick-Higgins, Manager of Supplier Diversity at JPS Health Network, is developing a Supplier Diversity Program for the organization and a new vendor registration portal.  Bonnick-Higgins serves on the boards of a number of community organizations including, Clayton YES!, Grace Tabernacle Church’s A.C.T.S. Tutorial Board and B.R.I.D.G.E. Young Professional Leaders, under the direction of the Fort Worth Black Chamber of Commerce. She received her Bachelors in Business Administration management from Northwood University and is completing a double degree with a Masters in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration.

ARTHUR F. ELGIN

Director, Facilities Management -JPS Health Network

Arthur F. Elgin, P.E. is a licensed Mechanical Engineer with more than twenty-three years designing, constructing, managing and maintaining healthcare and other facility types. Elgin has served in leadership roles within various organizations including multiple Architectural/Engineering firms as well as other healthcare organizations in the region.

 

Elgin’s primary responsibilities include oversight of all JPS facilities personnel as well as the operation and maintenance of all JPS-owned facilities which include non-clinical equipment, buildings, grounds, and utilities.

DRESDENE FLYNN-WHITE

Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer-JPS Health Network

Dresdene Flynn-White is no stranger to success as both a business owner and a strategic business partner in the corporate world.  First, as an administrator in higher education, then on to a fifteen year healthcare career with Kaiser Permanente. Leaving a lucrative career in corporate human resources and consulting, she started on her five year entrepreneurial journey as a business coach , advising and supporting small business owners. Dresdene returned to corporate human resources as Vice President for Human Resources at JPS in 2010. She assumed the role of the network’s first Diversity Officer in January 2012. In this capacity she is responsible for the execution of the Hospital District’s Diversity strategies relating to the provision of culturally competent care for patients, the education and retention of a diverse workforce and an expansion of engagement with M/WBE and HUB VENDORS.

 

Dresdene is unique, having experienced both corporate operational and business ownership roles. She is a credentialed manager responsible for establishing, consolidating and realigning critical business areas (quality, utilization and risk management and performance reporting) to enable the initiation of new systems, definition of new business processes and responses to litigation and regulatory compliance issues.

 

Dresdene serves on several community boards including the Fort Worth Metropolitan YMCA, The North Texas Chapter of ACHE, and the Tarrant County Cancer Disparities Coalition.

Randy Walker
Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer Henry Ford Health System

Randy Walker is the Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) of Henry Ford Health System.  Prior to becoming the full-time Chief Diversity Officer, he served one year in a dual role as CDO and Vice President of Operations at Henry Ford Hospital.  He served 21 years at Health Alliance Plan where he held positions including Senior Vice President of Health Care Management, Associate Vice President, Corporate Alliances and Acquisitions and Director of Contracting.

Walker received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA from Wayne State University. He was recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business “40 Under the age of 40,” successful business people and served as past President for ‘100 Black Men of Greater Detroit’ which partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Detroit Public Schools to mentor youth.  Walker is a former board member of U of D Jesuit High School and Black Family Development Inc. He was selected by Governor Jennifer Granholm as outstanding mentor of the year in 2006.

Walker and his wife are residents of Southfield, Michigan, and have two sons, both graduates of U of D High School. His oldest son graduate from Hampton University with a degree in Accounting. The youngest is playing junior hockey in Alaska before beginning college.
